ADR is the Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road. It sets requirements intended to protect people, property and the environment when hazardous materials travel by road.
Compliance covers the consignment as well as the journey: classification, packaging, labelling, documentation, vehicle standards and driver qualifications all matter.

Have the UN number, proper shipping name, hazard class and packing group, where applicable, ready when enquiring. A current Safety Data Sheet can help identify transport information, but does not replace the required transport document.

What information is needed for an ADR check?
Start with the UN number, proper shipping name, hazard class, packing group where applicable, quantities and packaging details. Include the route and any special conditions. An ADR check must consider the actual consignment, not just a product name.
Can I rely on an online ADR checker?
An ADR checker can help you find information, but it cannot replace correct classification or competent advice about your shipment. Check current requirements with your Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser and provide the carrier with complete, accurate transport details.
Can you arrange transport for class 9 dangerous goods?
Please send the full consignment details so we can confirm suitability. ADR class 9 covers miscellaneous dangerous substances and articles, including certain lithium batteries. The class alone is not enough to establish packaging requirements, restrictions or whether a particular load can be accepted.
Do you carry High Consequence Dangerous Goods?
Purple B Logistics is DfT-approved for High Consequence Dangerous Goods under a written Transport Security Plan. Contact us with the substance, quantity and journey details to discuss your specific transport requirement.
Will my goods share a vehicle or pass through a depot?
No. Our service uses dedicated vehicles with no co-loading or depot transfers. One driver remains accountable from collection to signed proof of delivery, whether you are moving a light load or a larger palletised consignment.
